Struggling to attract new clients? Grab my 5 part series
How To Build Clientele right here!
Recently, I was looking for a new hairstylist because I moved from LA to Clovis, CA and I am still trying to find “my people”. You know- the stylist who knows exactly how I want my hair shaped and the lash artist who isn’t going to give me stripper lashes. My people!
I can’t tell you how many bad websites I went through! They either only had a Booking App “website”, or a free abandoned-looking site that they probably made when they were just starting out. Many of the websites looked outdated and out of touch.
In the beauty industry, your website should be beautiful and modern. It should showcase your service menu and your work, as well as the personality of your salon or studio. If your beauty website is not making visitors say, “This is my stylist! I must get an appointment with her!” then you’re gonna get dusted by your competition.
Your website often serves as the first impression potential clients have of your business. A well-designed site not only showcases your services and portfolio, but also builds trust and encourages bookings. Let’s explore how to create a beauty website that not only looks stunning but also effectively converts visitors into clients.
The Booking App companies are trying to pull a fast one on the Beauty Industry by calling your landing page a “website”. But think about it- are any of the 6-figure beauty businesses using only a Booking App to scale their businesses? Absolutely not! And neither should you.
Search engines like Google do not “read” Booking apps the way they read a website. If a client searches for “facials near me” you need to have a website to be offered up to the client. Trust me, your competition is getting rich from you not having a real website!!!
Stop the discounting! If you want to charge higher prices for your services, you need to look worth it. And if you are always running a discount to get clients through the door, your Brand Positioning is saying “discount services”.
If you are confident in your talent and you’re ready to make more money, create a clear Service Menu, include your prices, explain the benefits that they will get by booking with you, and showcase it on your website in an organized and concise way. Do not add too many options, keep it simple!
A seamless user experience is crucial. Ensure that your website is easy to navigate, with clear menus and intuitive layout. Visitors should find it effortless to locate information about your services, pricing, and contact details.
If a visitor sees your business on Instagram or TikTok, and then clicks to your website, your brand identity should look the same. They will trust that you are the same business across all channels and it shows consistency. Your brand and website should be a true reflection of your brand, and using certain colors, fonts, and imagery can be the difference between looking like a discount brand or a high-end luxury brand.
Designing a Beauty website is key to out-booking your competition! If a client is going to book a $300+ service, you better believe they will want to check out your website first!

60% of clients (the number in reality is probably higher) will look at your business from their mobile phone, so your website needs to be mobile-responsive. A mobile-friendly design ensures that your site looks and functions well on all screen sizes, providing a positive experience for every visitor.
I design beauty websites on Showit, because it allows me to design the mobile pages separately and I can create a custom look. Check out this website from your phone.
Visual content is king in the beauty industry, and this is another area that can make your biz look high-end or a discount diva. Incorporate professional photos of your work, whether it’s hairstyles, makeup, or spa treatments. High-quality images can significantly influence a visitor’s decision to book your services. Use good lighting, learn how to use your phone camera to get amazing images, and create a space in your salon that has a branded background.
Tell your clients what to do and where to go! This makes people stay on your website longer and that is great for your SEO! Gently guide them to your Services page, and make sure they then visit your Portfolio to see all of your amazing before and after pics. We do this with Calls To Action. Whether it’s “View our Gallery”, “Book Now,” “Schedule a Consultation,” or “Contact Us,” make sure these prompts are prominently displayed throughout your site. I also love to invite my website visitors to work with me.
Social proof is gold! When you have great testimonials on Google, Yelp, AND your beauty website the search engines (like Google and Bing) are more likely to recommend your business in searches.
I always ask my client to leave a Google or Yelp review and then I copy and paste it onto my website and show it on my social media on a cute graphic made in Canva.
Don’t make people wait for your website to load! People have zero patience these days and a slow-loading webpage or video will kill your conversions! Reducing image size and using small videos or gifs will help your page load more quickly.
Creating an effective beauty website involves more than just aesthetic appeal; it’s about providing a user-friendly experience that reflects your brand and encourages client engagement. By focusing on intuitive navigation, consistent branding, mobile optimization, and clear CTAs, you can build a website that not only attracts visitors but also converts them into loyal clients.
