Last week I was looking for a new hairstylist. I moved to Clovis, CA two years ago and I am still trying to find “my people”. You know- the stylist that knows exactly how I want my hair cut and the lash artist that isn’t going to give me stripper lashes. My people!
So in my search, I looked at 10 million local websites (well, that’s what it felt like anyways) and maybe I am a harsh critic, but I was amazed at how many bad websites there are. Slow to load, weird pics, funky colors, I mean the list goes on…
In today’s digital age, a good website design is more important than ever. With so much competition for attention, your website needs to be visually appealing and easy to use in order to stand out from the crowd. I kept thinking that a beautiful and high-converting website would KILL in this market!
A well-designed website can help you achieve a number of goals, including:
Increasing brand awareness: A good website can help you promote your brand and is your virtual storefront, often giving potential customers a first impression.
Generating leads: A well-designed website can help you capture leads and turn them into customers.
Increasing sales: A good website can help you increase sales by making it easy for customers to find what they’re looking for and make a purchase.
The best website’s design has some of these elements:
Simplicity: A good website should be easy to navigate and use. Visitors should be able to find what they’re looking for quickly and easily.
Clarity: Your website should be clear and easy to understand. Visitors should be able to quickly grasp what your website is about and what you offer.
Consistency: Your website should be consistent in its design and branding. This will help to create a professional and trustworthy image for your business.
Engagement: Your website should be engaging and visually appealing. Visitors should want to stay on your website and learn more about what you have to offer.
If you can keep these key principles in mind, you’ll be well on your way to creating a good website design that will help you achieve your business goals.
Here are a few additional tips for creating a responsive website design:
Use high-quality images: Images are a great way to add visual interest to your website and make it more engaging. Bad pics were one of the reasons I passed on a few hairstylists. (sorry, not sorry)
Use clear and concise text: Your website’s text should be clear and concise. Avoid using jargon or technical language that your visitors may not understand.
Use a responsive design: If your website looks bad on a mobile phone you have automatically lost me! More people are accessing the internet on mobile devices these days, so a cool website design on mobile is imperative.
Test your website: Once you’ve created it, it’s important to test it to ensure it works properly. Test it on different browsers and devices to ensure it looks and works how you want it to.
